Determine Your People Organization

Determine your people organization. Will you have your own staff, or will you outsource things like your accounting, payroll, and/or IT services? If you have staff, what will be their duties? Where will they be located? An office, remote at home, or a combination of these?

a. You will need to determine this before you can identify your business’ location in section 10 below.

b. You will need to consider all the activities that must be performed within the business and who will be doing them. This can include:

• Reception

• Accounting

• Sales

• Estimating

• Project management

• Business management

• Office management

• Warehouse management

• Warehouse workers

• Others

c. Determine the ranges for salaries for the people you intend to staff the company with. It could be optimal to have job descriptions at this time but is probably not realistic. You will need to include this in your budget.
