Onboard Your Business Staff

Onboard your business’ staff.

a. Complete personnel jackets for each person hired with I-9 Forms, W-4 Forms, copies of their social security cards and drivers’ licenses, and all other required documents. Have the personnel sign any non-compete or non-disclosure agreements you might use.

b. Assign each staff member to their workstation.

c. Make sure each person has the equipment, software, and other supplies that will allow them to accomplish their assigned duties.

d. Obtain workers compensation insurance for all employees beyond the owner or corporate officers who can be exempted. Note: You must file for exemption if you want to exempt anyone. For the state of Florida, see: https://www.myfloridacfo.com/Division/wc/employer/Exemptions/default.htm.

e, Complete Personnel Training. Provide any necessary training or obtain any necessary training. We strongly recommend that all small business owners obtain leadership training for themselves. You should know how to lead your staff. Too many small business owners have no leadership experience or abilities! That results in excessive employee turnover which is costly for the business.
